wild Up | The Salt of the Earth
Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 8:00 PM (PST)
Los Angeles, CA
Too much classical music made in the 20th century wasn’t for or about people. In this show, Wild Up presents art that was made by, for and about human beings.
Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, German art-song, Wilco and Elliott Smith.
Dmitri Shostakovich’s "Chamber Symphony" with Yevgeny Yevtushenko’s poems.
A fiddle duet by California composer Stephen Hartke.
And sheep following each other off a ship in Massachusetts composer Frederic Rzewski’s Mouton de Panurge.
Tickets are $20 presale | $25 at the door
When & Where
We make music. New music. Old music. Dissonance. Consonance.
We’ll play it, as long as we love it.
wild Up is a modern music collective, comprised of young Los Angeles area musicians, committed to creating eclectic, vibrant art.
The idea is: take modern compositions, revitalizations of ancient music, unusual performance spaces, a flexible band of brilliant musicians and mix them together.
Next, question the "Art Music" concert experience itself...
